Communities in Schools of Hertford County will sponsor the 2nd Annual Murfreesboro Downtown Block Party on Thursday, October 2, from 5-8 pm.  The Roanoke-Chowan community is invited to come out and experience the best of downtown Main Street.

All are welcome!  Explore shopping opportunities, enjoy local restaurants, and learn about Communities in Schools of Hertford County, as well as other local businesses, non-profits, schools, and organizations.  Musicians will play at various locations throughout the downtown area, and several no-cost “Look-and-Learn” opportunities showcasing various crafts and skills will be available.

The festivities will begin with an opening ceremony at 5 pm on the lawn of the Roberts-Vaughan House at 116 East Main Street.  Afterwards, attendees are invited to venture out along Main Street to visit as many participating businesses and non-profits as possible.  At each site, participants may sign up to win door prizes, so visiting more sites raises the probability of winning!  Upon arrival at the event, guests can obtain a map from any Communities in Schools Board or Staff member in order to take full advantage of all that the Downtown Block Party has to offer.
